Atenea
Quartet
Four voices in constant conversation — connecting music across centuries with curiosity, precision and urgency.
The ensemble
From seventeenth-century counterpoint to today’s most adventurous works, Atenea Quartet searches for the connections between musical worlds.
Founded in Barcelona in 2019 and currently based in Basel, the quartet has appeared at Wigmore Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, L’Auditori de Barcelona, Palau de la Música Catalana and Stadtcasino Basel.
Its work combines the central string-quartet repertoire with a sustained commitment to contemporary music, including premieres by Raquel García-Tomás, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Elisenda Fàbregas and Mauro Hertig.
“After a concert like this, there’s no need to worry about the future of classical music.”

“Magnifik. An interpretation with balance, energy, precision, and a generous dose of Spanish passion.”
